Font FAQ


How do I install a font?
  1. Right click the .ttf file and select "Copy"
  2. Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts, right click and select "Paste"
  3. The font is now installed, confirmation should be displayed on the screen.
You will be able to use the font in any application, word, photoshop, etc

Do I need to restart?
  • You need to restart any applications which you want to use the font in, (if the program was open before installing the font).
  • Restarting the computer is not required.


How do I put the fonts on my website?
  • Fonts are rendered by the client not by the server,
  • Fonts will only display correctly for people that have that font installed on there local computer.
  • The only way you could allow users to see a non-standard font which they dont have installed is to make an image.


What is the license? Can I use a font for commerical purposes?
  • All the fonts on maxfonts.com are made by third party authors.
  • TIP: The notes provided with the download sometimes contain license information.
  • In some cases the authors website url/email is provided, so you can contact them directly.
  • Maxfonts has access to only the same information you can view on this site.
  • Maxfonts does not have a special list containing everyones licenses, you will need to contact the author directly.
